Guide to "Bunny hop in Counter Strike 1.6/Condition Zero/Source"

Keyboard Steps:

• Move forward by pressing "W" key for initial run up
  
• now Unpress/RELEASE the 'w' key press the strafe key (D or A) and move your mouse in the direction of the strafe (ie: if 'A' move mouse left in a little arc or if 'D' move mouse right by say 30 degrees) + JUMP (spacebar)
• This will cause a forward curved jump , in the left or right direction( Now on you must not use W key to move forward).
• When your just about to land after the first jump, hit the opposite strafe key and curve your mouse in the same direction of your strafe and hit jump EXACTLY when you land after the first jump. Doing this a little too early or little too late will cut the bunny hop
• IF You got the timing and mouse movement (synchronised)right you will quickly move forward faster, and you will need to repeat Steps 2 to 4 repeatedly.

Always wanted to start your own dedicated server for counter strike. Here is a small tutorial that can help you setup a dedicated server so that you can play your favorite game with your friends without any external interfernce.

There are many tutorials on the Internet that guide you on "How to setup counter strike Dedicated Server?" but they are old now. Here is a fresh new tutorial using which you can setup dedicated server in no time. Here are some pre-requisites of this tutorial. Please check them below:

Pre-requisites:

• Download hldsupdatetool.exe file
• Internet connection
• Ample space on Hard Disk.
• Make sure your system has command prompt

What's next? Next are few steps that you need to configure in order to run your own counter strike server. Check those steps below:

1. Double click the hldsupdatetool.exe file and install it. Please make sure that the file is installed in the directory in which your operating system is residing.
2. Suppose you have installed the file in C:/hlds directory. Now go to start > run > cmd > cd/ > cd hlds. From here you can run hldsupdatetool.exe file.
3. Now install counter strike server on it. This can be done by typing following commands: hldsupdatetool.exe -command update -game cstrike -dir c:/hlds. After this command is executed, counter strike server files will be downloaded on your system.

With the new version of sXe 7.8, you are forced to increase your quality of game play. And those whose Colour quality is set to 16 Bit have to change it to 32 bit in order to avoid the unusual tag i.e [16bpp] from your "Player Name". This problem is common in software mode where you cant change your Colour quality and in that case you have to get a Game card, Agp or Pci etc.
I have given the guide below about how to change the Colour quality.

Creating a Spray Logo

Introduction
Call them spray logos, spray decals or spray tags., Making them is fairly simple and you don't even need to be a graphic artist to make one, just about any image can be turned into a spray logo or you can create your own image and convert it into a logo. We assume you already have an image you want to convert into a spray.

What you need

Before we get started, you're going to need a program to be able to resize images. Free image editing programs are scarce so you may not have much choice,. Gimp works quite well and is free, available here., alternatively you can download a 30-day trial of paintshop, available here. Hopefully you already have some sort of image editor installed so you are able to resize some images.

Decal Restrictions

In Counter-Strike 1.6 you can have a spray decal up to 256 pixels wide and 256 pixels high, Below is a chart to illustrate the dimensions allowed.

The shaded green means the image size is supported. Keep in mind these dimensions are for Counter-Strike and not CS Source. The best way to avoid problems with image dimensions is to resize the image to around 96x96 pixels. The image doesn't necessarily have to be square as long as you keep the dimensions within the green shades as illustrated in the image above.

I wouldn't worry too much about dimensions, as in this guide we'll be using some tools that will resize and adjust the image ratios automatically. So for now, ignore the dimensions above.. for obvious reasons don't start with a huge image. Keep it small to around 400 pixels or below.

On the next page we'll show you how to create a spray logo for CS 1.6.

CS 1.6 Spray decals
You're going to need a program to create the spray decal (wad file), there are serveral programs to convert an image to a decal. In this guide we're going to use Decal Converter which you can download from our download section here. We recommend you use Decal Coverter because it is simple to use. So go ahead and download it.

Once you've downloaded Decal Converter, extract it to your desktop or somewhere you can easily access the progam. Once you've extracted the zip archive you'll see serveral files, We'll only need to use DecalConverter.exe, so go ahead and double click it.

We are going to start with the image below.

With Decal Converter open, click File on the top left corner and select open. Browse and open the image you want to convert, Below is what it looks like so far.

Now we want to make the spray transparent (remove the gray around the terrorist). Under Transparent Color you should see the box is automatically colored gray. Click replace then select Max for both Width and Height, The image should now have a blue background.

Now we we're ready to convert the image to a decal, Click Decal on the top of the window and select Make Decal. For easy accessibility, click Add then select your desktop. This makes it easier for you to find the converted decals.

After you select the OK button you should end up with a file called pldecal.wad - this is your spray decal. Browse you your cstrike directory, usually:
C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\\counter-strike\cstrike

Since Steam's release the file is no longer called pldecal, so we must rename it to tempdecal. Go ahead and rename the file to tempdecal, after you've renamed it, drag the file to your cstrike directory. So we don't accidently overwrite the spray while in the cs options menu we make the file Read-Only - to do this right click tempdecal and select properties then select the Read-only checkbox and click OK. Should see something like this.

Time to test our spray logo. Launch CS and join a server and test. Our final spray looks like this.

CS: Source Spray decals
With the release of CS Source, Valve has made it much easier for you to create spray logos. Valve realized how popular spray logos were and the extent people were going though to make them that they've created an import utility built right into CS Source. Even animated sprays are possible with the wonders of the Source engine.

Below is an image we're starting off with.

Copy the image to your C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\\counter-strike source directory so you can easily access the image from within CS. Next, launch CS Source, then click options. Select the Multiplayer tab if it isn't selected already and then select Import Spray. You should see the image you copied over to your CS Source directory earlier. Select it then select Open.

The image should now be imported and visible on the preview window.

The nice feature about this import utility is you can add as many spray logos and they will appear on the drop-down menu for use later on. Here is what our final spray looks like in-game.

Cool huh? Thats about all there is to creating spray logos. Once you get the hang of creating them you'll probably want to customize them futher by adding animation and transparency amongst other things. Hope this helps you make spray logos with easy.
